FIRST TIME BUYERS FLOCK TO MORELLO QUARTER
01 February 2010

Weston Homes’ Basildon-based development Morello Quarter has proved the perfect choice for first-time buyers in a difficult market and has seen continually high levels of demand. International Sales Representative Kelly Francis is one first-time buyer who took advantage of the current market and bought her dream two-bedroom apartment at Morello Quarter.
Kelly commented: “I had been living in the local area for a while and wanted to finally buy my first home and get on the property ladder. My intention had always been to find a new-build home and after searching for over two months a friend of mine saw Morello Quarter and suggested I should go and see the development for myself.
“From the moment I arrived I knew I wanted to live there and soon fell in love with a two-bedroom apartment over-looking the gardens. The location is perfect and is an easy commute into London for my job which only takes about an hour door-to-door. Many of the other buyers at Morello Quarter are of a similar age to myself, generally young professionals, which creates a very comfortable community atmosphere.”
Kelly continued: “One of the best features about Morello Quarter was all the extras that came with the apartment when I bought it – this was completely different to other new-build developments I had seen previously in the area. The Weston Homes staff were fantastic and always on hand to help me throughout the buying process.”
Located on the former Essex Ford headquarters site, Morello Quarter comprises of four contemporary buildings rising from four to ten storeys in height. The buildings have sleek tiered facades with balconies, expanses of glazing, terraces and penthouse roof gardens.
South-facing landscaped gardens, decks and terraces on various levels provide ample amenity space and form a “green hub” in the town centre. Additionally, the development is funding a toucan crossing at street level to assist pedestrians and cyclists reach the town centre and railway station without having to use a pedestrian subway.
